How does it differ from a bespoke platform?
In size and in the starting point. A corporate platform is built whole and from scratch. This is the opposite: a contained piece added to the site or shop you already have running, without redoing anything that works.
These are the jobs that don’t justify a full project but the business needs all the same: a PrestaShop module that calculates delivery the way you actually charge it, a WordPress add-on for a specific flow, an integration with your invoicing software, a form with particular logic. And when both are needed, they live in the same project.
Isn’t a bespoke module also a plugin?
In form, not in substance. A marketplace plugin is made to fit thousands of shops at once, so it brings everything to leave no one out: options you won’t use, code that runs just in case, and a maintenance surface you inherit. A bespoke module does only your thing, can be read in full and doesn’t depend on a third party staying interested in maintaining it.
What if my platform isn’t the one you recommend?
That’s fine. That we favour lighter architectures in the medium term doesn’t mean we’ll make you migrate to solve a one-off need. If your business lives on PrestaShop or WordPress today and it works, the sensible thing is usually to programme the missing piece right there, not rebuild everything to add a button.
